iPhone OS 3.0

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Hi there folks. Today I decided to update my iPhone 3G to 3.0 firmware. I did it mostly in order to run new GPS software (Navigon for now and TomTom later). OS seems to be working fine:

  • Landscape keyboard finally (but still not in all apps, especially Palringo IM);
  • Built-in voice memos function;
  • It seems to work a little bit faster but ain’t sure about that yet (everything works fine until you won’t put 2GBs of mp3’s there;

Unfortunately after doing some JailBreak with redsn0w I occured some error with notes function (it simply doesn’t work), so I’m doing it again. I will post more thoughts soon.

Update Ok I JailBroken it again and it seems to work fine. Now installing Navigon (it’s kinda huge 1,6GB!). Btw BossPrefs has some bug, wifi toggle doesn’t work so I installed SBSettings which seems to be working great.

Update 2 Navigon installed. It seems to be working pretty fine, map refreshes very fast etc. Even addresses database is pretty fine! Stay tuned for more info.
